My best round in YEARS and NEW COURSE starting!!

Over the moon doesn't even cover it!

Last Friday I had my best and most enjoyable 9 holes in YEARS!! Just to put things into context, this was my 2nd 9 holes of golf since lockdown ended for golf and prior to lockdown I had probably played 2 full rounds of golf in the first 3 months of this year. Long story short, I was 4 under par after 6 holes (these 6 holes took me and my 10 year old playing partner 1 hour and 5 minutes by the way!) we had to wait to tee off on the 7th and I glanced at my card and got a bit excited! I let this get ahold of me for 2 holes and I made 2 bogeys. However I managed to recover myself with a birdie on the 9th for a 3 under par 33!!

I'm 100% putting this down to the mindfulness course that I completed during lockdown! Through doing the course and the daily meditations every day since, I was able to stay much calmer, less anxious, in the moment, and have much less/hardly any chaos or distractions in my mind whilst I was swinging the club and playing the shots. Obviously I got a bit carried away on the 7th and 8th, but it’s early days and I’ve hardly played this year. 

I am so convinced by the positive impact that Mindfulness can have on your golf, that I am going to start running my own golf-based mindfulness group course online. Each course will be four weeks long with a 60-80 minute group Zoom session each Tuesday, covering the best mental approach to the game and mindfulness techniques.
